A 17th Century Officers Lobster Tailed Helmet. The heavy weight skull of two piece construction riveted along the centre and with a single incised line decoration, the one piece simulated lame lobster tail appears to have been re-attached during its working life and the front tilting visor fitted with a three bar face guard.
The helmet is struck with an armourer stamp on one side above the right ear, ear flaps lacking.
