A 1796 Cavalry Officers sabre by Thomas Gill & dated 1798. Externaly the sword has been refurbished with a plate finish but the etched blade retains 95%+ of its original bright etched finish(One of the nicest etched blades we have seen) and has the owners crest and monagram etched on one side of the blade.
We believe the sword belonged to Brigadier-General Sir Andrew Dunlop.

The leather scabbard which has been varnished to stiffen the leather with two silver mounts the throat mount with traces of makers name.

A very nice 1796 pattern infantry officers sword by Tatham with blue and gilt blade. The blade signed Runkel solingen retains around 75% its original blue and gilt finish. The hilt and scabbard mounts also retain much of the original gilt finish. The leather of the scabbard has shrunk slightly which stops the blade going all the way into the scabbard by about 3/4".

An interesting 1788 pattern heavy cavalry officers backsword with faceted pommel and the basket with unusual diamond cut design, the rayskin grip wrapped with silver wire. The 33.75" single edged blade with the GR Cypher on both sides and engraved Bland below the cypher on one face.

The brass hilt has the Royal Scots device set into the guard and the back-strap is embelished with thistles, the grip with damage to the ray skin. The 32" single edged blade has a blackened patina overall but the etching can be clearly seen which includes the regimental device.
