Military General Service Medal 8th Foot

An MGS with Martinique clasp awared to Drummer George Young of the 8th of Foot who was taken prisoner on the night of 12th/13th July 1814 during a patrol of the light company out of Fort George under the command of Major Evans. The American General Swift was killed during this encounter.
