| An 1864-66 New Zealand medal presented to Ensign & Lieut S.P.T. Nicholl of the 43rd light infantry.
Nicholl recieved a scalp wound at the "Battle of Gate Pah" were most of the officers were killed or wounded in the initial attack: 7 Officers Killed or D.O.W. 2 Officers wounded, Sgt Major killed, 11 privates killed or D.O.W and 18 privates wounded.
The medal is contained in a case with retailers name embossed inside the lid (G Kenning & Son, London,Liverpool,Manchester & Glasgow).
